Biedermann gets award

Lathrop Police Services Deputy Sheriff Ryan Biedermann was awarded the Mayor’s Award of Distinction at the Lathrop City Council meeting, Tuesday, March 18.  Biedermann, a K9 officer and his partner Miko, were the first to arrive at house fire last November. He was recognized by Mayor Kristy Sayles for saving the lives of a woman and her three dogs.  An Escalon resident, Biedermann was nominated for the Italian Athletic Club’s “Officer of the Year Award", has several letters of commendation and credited with making 211 arrests including felonies and misdemeanors.  Biedermann downplayed his heroic effort by saying that he did not do anything more than what another Deputy would have done.

 New Deputy for Lathrop

San Joaquin Deputy Sheriff Jeff Watson has recently been assigned to Lathrop Police Services. Watson, 27, said he was looking forward to watching the city of Lathrop grow and make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis.
According to Lathrop Police Services Acting Captain Bruce Wuest, Watson was selected because of his long-term goals, experience as a paramedic and K9 interest.
Watson grew up in Yucaipa, and after High School, enlisted in the Army National Guard, serving six years as a Combat Medic. He was deployed to Russia and the Middle East. Returning home, he became a Paramedic in Los Angeles and a Deputy Sheriff in 2007. Waston and his wife Nicole have a 3-year old son, Nathan.
