    Mayor Willie Weatherford’s rudeness to hotel consultant Tom Callahan at the March 17 meeting didn’t show much class for the mayor.  

    The City Council should not have spent $26,000 of the taxpayer’s money in the first place. Because Mr. Callahan did not stroke the mayor’s ego at the taxpayer’s expense, Weatherford showed his true colors.

    The $62,000 the council spent on restaurants is another big waste of taxpayer’s money. If the council wants to spend money on consultants, they should spend it on fighting crime, because they sure don’t know how to fight crime. And yes, Mayor Weatherford, crime is out of control in Manteca.

    Mayor Weatherford, put your ego back in your pocket and quit wasting the taxpayer’s money.
