ON DISPLAY: Deanna Hunt, an artist and professor whose work has found a place in collections both in the U.S. and abroad, mulls over selections Saturday, April 26 at the City of Lathrop’s Annual Mayor’s Art Show and Sale. More than 150 people submitted paintings, photographs and sculptures for the event, the biggest turnout in the show’s 15-year history. Mayor Kristy Sayles will later handpick a piece to add to the city’s permanent collection.

This appears to be a good program that promotes the local arts. More positive stories like this are needed in all newspapers.
